Our aim is to make you feel seen, heard, cared about, and comfortable in our studio as you get your tattoo. Creating the tattoo is an intimate, private, collaborative and organic experience between Adam and the Wearer during the session.
Adam is a visual designer and artist, who has been tattooing since summer 2018. Tommy is a painter, photographer and visual artist. We have been together since 2012, and both share affinity for the arts, music and the stage. Fine Line Willy is an experience we are very proud to curate together.
1. Logistics:
The address is:291 a Echo Ave Sound Beach, NY
Before Tattoo/After Tattoo:Eat before your session and bring comfortable clothes that give Adam access to the body part he will be tattooing. After tattoo you will keep it clean and use ointment for three days and then switch to lotion or coconut oil, you will also cover your tattoo in the sun and prevent soaking in water like bath/pool/saltwater for 7-14 days. For those who need, for torso pieces , Adam will provide pasties. You may bring a T shirt that can stay draped over your neck for extra cover if you need it.
Arriving:Arrive on time, not early. You are welcome to wait in your car until the time of your appointment. If Adam is running late he will text you and ask you to remain in your car for up to 15 minutes. If you’re running a few minutes late just message the e-mail or text (depending on how you were booked) . Rescheduling/ Cancelling: We are happy to reschedule an appointment at any time, especially due to emergencies, covid, or extreme weather. You will not lose your deposit for the first reshedule. If you no-call-no-show to your appointment, you will not be able to use your deposit for a reschedule. Please contact us through the means through which you were booked to reschedule. Your deposit is good for one reschedule for a couple of reasonable months. COVID-19:Tommy and Adam are both vaccinated. They will not be wearing masks, or enforcing masks at this time. Anyone is welcome to wear a mask if they'd like to. Any COVID-19 related updates may of course change with updated news and mandates. Thank you!
Parking:Please parallel park in front of the studio. There will be as sign about 15 minute parking, that's for the businesses next door. Take the road spot right in front of the front door. If that spot is unavailable, there is a parking lot by the Barber shop right on the property that you may also use.
Company:You may bring one guest with you. Please let Adam know if you are bringing a guest, what their name is and who they are to you.
Payment: You’ve paid your non-refundable deposit. That goes toward the final price of your tattoo. The rest is PAID IN CASH after the tattoo is made. The session starts when you arrive and ends when Adam is done tattooing. In the event of a gifted tattoo session, the money will be received after the tattoo is finished as well. The tattoo session is priced at $250 per hour, and you leave a $100 non-refundable deposit to book the appointment. The deposit goes toward the final price of the tattoo. We accept venmo/zelle/ or cash for the deposit and ask for cash only at the session. For reference, most large tattoos like large illustrations in full color get started in 3 hours or so and could take more than one session. ($750+) Most medium (forearm, hand sized, calf size) or colored pieces about 2 hours. ($400-$500) For small or tiny lettering or small line work pieces or outlines usually take me an hour or less. ($250) For pieces that take 30 or 40 minutes you are not charge the whole hour. ($150-200).

2. Unique Studio Experience: Fine Line Willy is a very unique tattoo studio on Long Island.
LGBTQIA+ owned. 🏳️‍🌈A private studio with one artist- Adam.
Tattoos here are made uniquely for you and often with you in an organic collaboration.
Our aim is to create a safe, calm space to make room for questions, personal additions that make the tattoo uniquely yours, as well as making you completely comfortable. We love customizing the room with sounds that make you feel good, and for long sessions we can play your favorite show or movie.
No one coming in and out, no one working around you, it’s just your own private experience that you can share with one other guest. 3. Design Process:
Adam will not be sending you designs/prepared stencils or alterations to desired flash designs ahead of the session.
There is an understanding of what you’re looking to work on at the tattoo session based on the proposal form and Adam will prepare himself by getting present to your session the day before and/or the morning of to keep his brain fresh to create.
Often, you will also find more to say to Adam about what you want between booking and the appoinment, so it really works best to sit down the day of and finalize the stencils together.
The canvas of tattoos is your skin and Adam needs it in front of him to work. The canvas moves and shifts, so you will take a look in the mirror at all angles. Anticipating the heal/skin type/wear and tear and the type of clothes you wear are all included in the design process, so your mutual collaboration is a crucial aspect of the session. Keep that in mind and bring clothes necessary to expose the body part you'd like to get tattooed.
If for any reason you are hesitating about doing the tattoo during the design process, you always have the choice to not get the tattoo and leave! In our experience, people tend to express feeling bad if they dont use up more time or if thet dont want to get tattooed. Don't think that way. There will be 0 pressure about the tattoo. You are supposed to feel good and excited about getting it!
Trust the process, ask Adam any questions that come up, and request your wildest dreams. If Adam has any concerns for you, he will lay them out, and will always be looking out for your tattoo in these three categories:
1. elegantly beautiful –– a matter of taste
2. fits your skin –– how it moves and stretches as you move and how it's occurring
3. stands the test of time –– heals and we can still see what it is
4. Healing/ After Care: The tattoo is permanent. The ink is deposited between your skin cells is protected by your white blood cells called macrophages. Then, your skin heals around the ink and continues regenerating while the ink settles deeper in between your skin cells over time. Basically, think of your healed tattoo as a drawing trapped behind a thick layer of transluscent canvas––your skin!
Thus, lines will become more settled, get a little thicker, and slightly fuzzier over time. The ink will subtly change color over time and over even more time lines will get a little closer together, because you're looking at the tattoo through your skin.
Do not call any of what's described above “fading” or “bleeding” or “blown out” as commonly referred to. This is how tattoos heal. They’re healing as you age and grow and it’s normal for them to look different in 20 years time and so on.
After you first get your tattoo, you will be talked you through the healing process and given directions. You’ll keep your tattoo clean with anibacterial soap and moisturized with A&D or Aquaphor for three days three times a day, and then past day three, moisturized with plain lotion once or twice a day for two weeks to a month, as needed. Keep your fresh tattoo out of the sun, and avoid soaking in water for at least 7-14 days. Always listen to the artist that tattooed you for best results.
